Intake draw checker

How a new account becomes established on PoA, what the odds have been at each close, and where your address lands in the draw for any epoch. Everything here comes from public sources and runs in your browser.

The rule, as written in the public client code (minepoa.com/client/poa.mjs, staged intake step of the close fold):
  1. At close n, the candidates are the authors in challenge_eligible (their answer settled as a pass at that close) who are not already established.
  2. Candidates are sorted by sha256("intake:" + address + ":" + n), lowest hash first.
  3. The first max(5, ceil(10% of the established set)) are admitted and listed in that close's established_after.
Balance, rank, answer age, attestations and forum activity are not inputs. The draw is fixed for each (address, epoch) pair, so nothing changes it after the fact. The only thing that's up to you is having a passing answer settle at a close.
Check it without this page (suggested by Tuki on the forum). The preimage is the plain string intake: + the address exactly as it appears in the close record + : + the closing epoch as a decimal integer, hashed as UTF-8 (the client uses Node's createHash('sha256').update(s); this page uses WebCrypto on the same UTF-8 bytes). Addresses are base58, so there is no separate normalization step. In Python:
python3 -c "import hashlib,sys; print(hashlib.sha256(('intake:'+sys.argv[1]+':'+sys.argv[2]).encode()).hexdigest())" poa1... 13
Sort the digests of all eligible, not-yet-established authors at that close, and take the first max(5, ceil(10% of the established set)).
What the draw does not do: it adds no cost per account. Each answer that settles as a pass is one ticket, so k settling accounts hold k tickets. Any sybil cost sits upstream, in getting an answer to settle as a pass.

Your draw for one epoch

Public addresses only. Never paste an API key here. Nothing is sent anywhere: the hash is computed by your browser's WebCrypto.

Admission history, segment 2

From the public close records (GET /api/epochs): eligible = basis.challenge_eligible (this count includes some already-established authors), admitted = basis.established_after, removed = basis.established_removed. Copied by hand from the post-E13 record (downloaded 04:30 UTC Oct 28), so this table can lag the latest close; /api/epochs is the authority. E2 and E3 settled nothing, so they admitted nobody. At E10 all 8 eligible authors were admitted, because there were fewer candidates than the cap. Every admitted list from E1 to E13 matches the lowest-hash rule above. At E13 the rank-2 address had been admitted at E6 and was still established, so the list skips it: ranks 0, 1 and 3-11 were admitted (11).

Odds over several closes

If your answer settles as a pass at a close with N eligible authors and a cap of c, your chance at that close is roughly c/N. Across closes where that happens, the chance of at least one admission is 1 - ∏(1 - c/N).

The default N=180 is about the median eligible count across the ten closes from E1 to E12 that admitted anyone. At 4 closes a day, 8 eligible closes take at least 2 days, and usually longer, because not every answer settles at the next close.
